The Royal Pacific Sports Club pair of Lions ushered in the Year of the Horse before having the Loo Sang dish to start the ten-course dinner. The dinner was held at the Continental Seafood Restaurant. It was well attended by 410 guests, another sold out event.
Loo Sang dish was prepared and donated by our member Lee Kim Kook. Linda Liew then lead the singing of O’ Canada anthem. Dead on schedule, President Stanley Low delivered his welcoming speech, both in English and Mandarin. During dinner, the Colour of Dance Academy presented two dance themes. Well deserved, award to recipients with the Certificate of Appreciation were given out by the President. They volunteered their time and energy to the club. Mr. Yeo Sing Lim, our Hon. Advisor, also received the Award, has never failed to step up with donating the top cash prize year in year out. MJ’s Natural Pharmacy, also a major contributor to our events, received the Appreciation Award as well.
All children and adults born in the year of the horse received their ‘laisee’ from the President, graciously donated by Past President Guilbert Ho and Director/VP Fanny Chua. The showcasing of Ladies with Cheong-sum followed suit to the tune of ‘Welcome to My World’ by Richard Liew.
The last show performance of the evening was the Malaysian Joget dance performed by Angela Tan and her dance troupe of 12 ladies. Short time in the preparation, Angela managed to pull the performance together to perfection. Last practice run was carried out at the clubhouse on the day of the event.
The raffle draws were carried out flawlessly that evening. This was attributed by the fact that a trial-run was carried out by all the directors at the clubhouse to ensure the draws meet all the criteria. The top prize of $1000.00 was donated by our Hon. Advisor Yeo Sing Lim.
The successful evening was capped off with dance music from the house band. Many great compliments were received by the Directors from our guests. Some called and some wrote in to congratulate MSBCA for a well run event.
